Microfiber Shirts

MicroFiber Shirts

Microfiber is a revolutionary new material created by weaving together very thin strands of synthetic thread into yarns for weaving. Microfiber shirts are constructed by weaving together these Microfiber yarns. The yarn density as well as the method used for weaving them produce different products. Some of them denser than others and preventing absorption and others less dense designed to absorb. Furniture and car interiors use the denser variety to repel liquids and stains. Cleaning products (mops, rags, etc.) and Microfiber shirts are of the less dense variety.

Microfiber is an excellent addition to the textiles industry. It is often used to make a faux suede, which is easier to clean than traditional suede. Microfiber can be found in many garments including women’s undergarments, men’s pants and shirts and Under Armor T shirts. It is also a reusable product even though it is not made of renewable resources. Microfiber items last for a long time with proper care.

Microfiber shirts and other Microfiber products should not be washed with anything but standard detergent. No softening agents or additives should be added to the laundry because the oils in these products can be come stuck in the fibers causing it to work less efficiently until the oils are cleared.

They are an awesome addition to any athlete’s wardrobe. Microfiber shirts remove the sweat from against the body by wicking it away. This provides a more comfortable workout and less chafing due to wet fabrics abrading the body. The fabrics dry quickly and breathe, allowing the wicked away sweat to evaporate and the athlete to work out comfortably.

The government was looking at Microfiber for it’s next generation body armor, but decided not to use it because of flammability issues.

The NBA also switched to a Microfiber basketball for less than one season. The players reported differences in performance between Microfiber balls and traditional leather balls. So it looks like the only place for Microfiber in sports, is going to have to be on the bodies of the athletes.

As the temperatures drop once again this fall and winter season, I am reminded how much I prefer microfiber shirts over cotton, polyester, and other synthetic materials. I really see no proof, but for some reason, it feels like microfiber shirts keep me warmer. In the fall and winter, the sweat wicking properties of MF shirts are especially important. Keeping moisture away from your skin when it is cold outside is not only safer, it is way more comfortable being wet and cold!

Even in the brief year that this website has been in existence, there have been great advancements in micro fibers and micro fiber technology. With improved manufacturing techniques and new companies making microfiber factories, prices have fallen. This makes it easier and more affordable for new microfiber products and design to come to market. This is great news for consumers, since we will pay less for products, but it also means more companies should begin considering using microfiber as a material for their pieces.
