A shirt is a shirt?
I first became picky about my shirts when I discovered shirt.woot.com.
Up until then, I never thought or noticed about what a shirt was made of. If it had a cool graphic or design, I wore it.
When I got my first woot shirt, I realized it was different. It was a little softer, and it fit a little better. It turns out, the shirts are from American Apparel and made from high quality cotton.
Not long after that, I received my first microfiber shirt. The radio station I worked for had a batch of shirts made up with the radio station logo on them. At the time, they were really expensive because microfiber materials were new. Everyone love the shirts and so did I!
While not quite as soft as cotton, it is lighter. It is hard to describe how it feels against your skin as compared to other materials, both natural and synthetic. But aside from silk, it probably feels more comfortable then any other cloth.
So are all shirts created equal? No way.
In my book, microfiber FTW!

We’ve used American Apparel shirts in our shop quite a bit. They are really soft. I can’t believe there can be such difference between two or three different shirts that are all 100% cotton. You’d think cotton would feel the same, but a lot can be done during the manufacturing process.
